What is 'Title Report'?
A Title Report is an extensive report compiled after a deal is in contract.
The report will confirm who the current owner of the property is and how that person or entity acquired ownership.
Also, the report will list any liens and violations that were filed against the seller, the purchaser, or against the property itself which the attorneys use a framework to resolve before closing.
Lastly, the report will list what the amount of the property taxes are for each tax period.
